Attending MEDA’s Orientation is the first step to become a MEDA client. This workshop will give you an over view of MEDA’s various rental and financial services and it is required in order to participate in these services.

  • Do you need to work on your finances: debt, income, savings and credit?
  • Do you need housing assistance: post-purchase, foreclosure, or rental?
  • Do you need help with your career, including job training programs?
  • Do you want to start or expand your own business, including access to a business loan?

MEDA’s financial education and training program includes a primary workshop covering the basics of personal finance as well as financial coaching session covering:

  • Individualized financial action plan
  • Personal budget and financial evaluation
  • Free Tri Merge Credit Report with EFX, XPN and TUC Scores
  • Connections to relevant ancillary services from our partner organizations, including the IDA and Cesta programs through the Mission Asset Fund and EARN, the Federal Home Loan Bank’s WISH and IDEA programs, as well as secured card and bank account options.
  • Personalized follow-up counseling sessions that provide regular “checks” and help clients reach their goals.

Please note:

  • This is event is not to be confused with the MOHCD Homebuyer Program Orientation as it DOES NOT give you credit towards the required education for MOHCD Homebuyer programs. Visit homeownershipsfcom/homebuyer-education for information on Homebuyer program education.
  • You do not need to attend the Welcome Orientation at MEDA in order to participate in their Homebuyer Program education (MOHCD Homebuyer Program Orientation, First Time Homebuyer Workshops and Individual Counseling Session).
  • Entering this Welcome Orientation more than 15 minutes after the start time, will not satisfy the requirement to participate in MEDA’s services and you will need to attend again in order to compete the requirement although you will be allowed to stay at the event.
  • To receive attendance credit: You must submit the Income Verification Form and complete the tests and quizzes during the webinar.
  • You must use your legal name, as shown on your CA ID or driver’s license on both registration forms (Eventbrite and Family Income Verification Form), as well as when entering the webinar through Zoom.
  • You must register with your own email address. Please use the same email address on both registration forms (Eventbrite and Family Income Verification Form) and when entering the webinar through Zoom.
  • You must log in on your own device and participate during the orientation. Due to testing during orientation, only one person per device can participate. Participants can attend on a computer or mobile device.
