As of February 28, 2023, the San Francisco Emergency Rental Assistance Program (SF ERAP) is accepting new applications. Please note that program rules have changed to target financial assistance to households most at risk of housing loss or homelessness.

San Francisco Emergency Rental Assistance Program (SF ERAP)

If you have experienced a recent financial hardship and need one-time help with back rent or need help with a security deposit, visit the San Francisco Emergency Rental Assistance Program (SF ERAP) online application to see if you are eligible to apply.

The SF ERAP is jointly administered by the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development (MOHCD) and the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing (HSH). The program aims to keep the City’s most at-risk tenants in their homes as part of the City and County of San Francisco’s anti-displacement and homelessness prevention efforts.

Funding is LIMITED and SF ERAP will not be able to serve every household who meets minimum eligibility criteria.
