Anyone utilizing any of the San Francisco homebuyer assistance programs will be required to attend 6 hours of homeowner workshops after the purchase of their property in order to obtain the homeowner rebate. You’ll have 24 months from the date of your purchase to fulfill this requirement.
How the rebate works:
- As a part of your closing costs, you’ll pay a $200 rebate-eligible deposit which will be held by Homeownership SF.
- After closing escrow you can register for eligible workshops. Topics include: Home Maintenance, Refinance, Homeowners Associations (HOA’s) and Property and Income Taxes.
- Once you’ve completed 6 hours of eligible homeowner workshops, you’ll automatically receive your rebate check in the mail at your new home address a few weeks later.
