Below Market Rate Downpayment Assistance Loan Program (BMR DALP)

MOHCD provides need-based downpayment assistance for low and moderate income households who otherwise would not be able to buy a BMR unit.

Downpayment Assistance Loan Program (DALP)

DALP is a downpayment loan up to $500,000 to bid on a property on San Francisco’s open market. The loan must be used on the downpayment of a single unit that will become a primary residence.

City Second Loan Program (CSLP)

The City Second Loan Program provides a downpayment loan, which can be up to $500,000 but depends on fund availability. The loan is used to bid on a collection of properties also advertised on the open market.

Teacher Next Door (TND) Program

MOHCD helps SFUSD educators buy their first home in San Francisco. It provides $40,000 for a market-rate unit, or $20,000 for a below-market-rate unit. It is typically layered on top of other MOHCD loan programs, such as DALP or City Second if additional funding is needed.

First Responders Downpayment Assistance Loan Program (FRDALP)

FRDALP helps financially eligible first responders buy a home in San Francisco. It is a downpayment loan up to $500,000 to bid on a property on San Francisco’s open market.

MyHome Assistance Program

A deferred-payment junior loan of an amount up to the lesser of 3.5% (FHA loans) or 3% (conventional loans) of the purchase price, or appraised value to assist with down payment and/or closing costs.

WISH

Workforce Initiative Subsidy for Homeownership (WISH) offers eligible low- to moderate-income households 4-to-1 matching grants of up to $22,000 that can be applied to downpayment and closing costs for the purchase of a home.
