APPLICATIONS FOR THE DOWNPAYMENT ASSISTANCE LOAN PROGRAM (DALP) ARE DUE WEDNESDAY, MAY 12TH AT 5 PM.

To submit a DALP application, you must have: 1) a Mortgage Pre-Approval Letter from a City approved lender and 2) Verification of Homebuyer Education dated within the past year. The Pre-Approval Letter must reflect current prices for a market rate property, a pre-approval letter prepared for a Below Market Rate (BMR) property will not be sufficient.

All 10 hours of required homebuyer education MUST BE COMPLETED to receive a Verification of Homebuyer Education. Orientations, workshops and individual counseling appointments are provided on a first come, first served basis. If the event you’re trying to register for is full, please register for a different date. New events are posted as soon as they become available.

Please note: Due to the current COVID-19 “shelter in place” order, this workshop will be held online via webinar in a 2-part series. You must attend both webinars to receive credit for all 6 hours. You will receive the link to register for Part 2 when you complete Part 1. Part 2 will take place on May 15th.

Please note: If more than one person in your household will be joining the webinar, each person must register with their own email, and must login from their own different device

Any participant who no-shows more than twice will not be allowed to register for the course again.

Learn how to set financial goals, create a budget, downsize your debt, and understand your credit report and score. We’ll explain how to best prepare yourself for home ownership, what to expect in the mortgage loan process along with learning the different types of loans available and mortgage loan application criteria. Learn about the steps in the home buying process including shopping for a home, making an offer, the closing period and home buying professionals that will assist you along the way. In addition, learn about local programs available to first-time home buyers and the criteria that must be met to qualify for those programs.

Please arrive to the webinar on time. Attendees who do not arrive on time will not be given credit for the workshop. No exceptions.
